When aluminium is the right frame
The structure of aluminium profiles is more suitable for large facades where the glass is meant to be the architecture and the frame is meant to disappear.
We use it for internal doors, balcony doors and windows of practically any dimension or shape, from the straightforward to constructions that look impossible on the drawing, and for curtain walls where a whole elevation is glass.
Opening systems in aluminium
Every one of these can be made to your sizes rather than cut down from a stock unit.
Inward and tilt and turn
The sash turns into the room, and can tilt as well, for ventilation that leaves the opening secure. Standard in homes, hotels, schools, hospitals and public buildings.
Outward opening
Top hung or side hung, opening away from the room to save internal space. High wind pressure presses the sash onto the frame rather than away from it.
Sliding and tilt and slide
Duo rail and multi rail. High thermal and acoustic insulation, water tight and air tight.
Net screens
Aluminium windows can be supplied with an insect net as an option, mounted so it can be removed or slid aside. It is the small thing people ask about after the windows are in, and it is far cheaper to specify at the start.
Curtain walls
Where a whole elevation is glass, the aluminium system becomes a curtain wall: a continuous glazed skin carried on its own frame rather than on the building’s floors.
Aluminium or metal-uPVC, and how to choose
Choose aluminium when the panes are large and the frame is meant to disappear, when a whole elevation is being glazed, or when a single opening spans further than a uPVC section would carry without a visible mullion.
Choose metal-uPVC when insulation is the priority and to avoid corrosion from salt sea vapour. The multi chamber profile is a better insulator than aluminium for the same frame depth, which is why the noise and heat reduction is much more effective with metal-upvc.
Both are made to measure, both are double glazed, both are fitted by our own installers and both carry the same two-year warranty. You can also mix them in one building, and on most projects of any size we do.

Questions about aluminium windows
Should I choose aluminium or metal-uPVC?
Aluminium when the panes are very large and the frame should disappear, when a whole elevation is being glazed. Metal-uPVC when insulation matters most, because a multi chamber profile insulates better than aluminium at the same frame depth. The noise and heat reduction is much more effective with metal-upvc.
Does aluminium corrode near the sea?
Aluminium is less resistant to saline corrosion and harsh atmospheric agents, which is precisely why it is not advised on the Lagos waterfront and along the coast.
Can aluminium windows be double glazed?
Yes, and all of ours are. Double glazing is standard across the whole range rather than an upgrade.
Can I have insect screens on aluminium windows?
Yes. Nets are an option on the aluminium system, mounted so they can be removed or slid aside. Specify at order stage and it costs far less than adding it later.
Do you do curtain walls?
Yes. Where a whole elevation is glass, the aluminium system becomes a curtain wall carried on its own frame. We measure, manufacture and install those the same way we do a single window.
